The Axiomatic AX141410 is a new 1000BASE-T1 to 1000BASE-T protocol converter featuring Power-over-Ethernet (PoE). The Gigabit Automotive Ethernet to PoE Converter is designed for the harsh environments of off-highway and mining equipment. It interfaces with cameras and network switches for machine autonomy.

AX141410 — Gigabit Automotive Ethernet/Gigabit Ethernet PoE Converter
PoE follows IEEE 802.3af Type 1 Class 3 Mode B and provides 15.4 W at the port. Users can set the speed/bitrate of the end-to-end communication via the RS-232 interface using the 3-wire RS-232/Power port. Additionally, AX141410 can be configured to act as Master or Slave for Automotive Ethernet via the RS-232 interface. Master mode works if the connected device has its transceiver set to Slave mode. Slave mode works when the connected device has its transceiver set to Master mode. Hard setting the Master/Slave relationship is available and saves on setup-time costs and ensures that the Automotive Ethernet link is established quickly. Automotive Ethernet networks use a 2-wire cable to reduce cable weight and cost in automotive networking.
The Automotive Ethernet/Ethernet PoE media converter operates with a nominal power supply input of 12 or 24 VDC nominal (9 to 36 VDC range) and is protected against surge and transient, reverse polarity, over-voltage, and under-voltage faults. The unit operates at temperatures between -40 to 70 °C (-40 to 158 °F) and features an IP67-rated, laser welded, injection molded enclosure with three rugged M12 connectors.
