The two new LIN/CAN converters from Axiomatic facilitate bidirectional data exchange between a LIN and a CAN network. The AX140620 supports SAE J1939 while the AX140621 uses CANopen® protocol. Both modules comply with LIN 2.2A specification and can be configured as Master or Slave.
The AX140620 supports 130 LIN Signals, 25 LIN Unconditional Frames, 25 CAN Receive messages, and 25 CAN Transmit messages. It features auto-baud-rate detection for CAN and can be configured using the Axiomatic Electronic Assistant tool.
The AX140621 can handle 130 LIN Signals, 25 LIN Unconditional Frames, 6 CANopen® RPDO messages, and 7 CANopen® TPDO messages. An EDS file is provided to configure the unit using standard CANopen® tools.
AX140620 — LIN/CAN Protocol Converter, SAE J1939
The LIN / CAN converters can operate with 12 or 24 V battery power supply (9 to 32 V range). They are protected against surge, transients, reverse polarity, overvoltage, and undervoltage faults. These devices can work at a wide range of temperatures from -40 to 85 °C (-40 to 185 °F). They come in compact IP67-rated enclosures which can withstand dust and water exposure. The integral connector has 6 pins.
The converters can be used in a variety of applications including, but not limited to, off-highway and agricultural equipment and commercial trucks.
