The isolated protocol converters with CAN and Modbus RTU or J1587 gateway between two CAN ports and one RS-485 port. Supported CAN bus communications include SAE J1939 and CANopen®. Each model only supports communication with Modbus RTU or SAE J1587. The isolated protocol converters operate from a 12 or 24 VDC nominal input power (9 to 36 VDC). Depending on the selected model, the converters provide isolation to the two CAN ports or all three communication ports. The protocol converters are user configurable via standard CANopen® interface tools (not supplied) or the Axiomatic Electronic Assistant. The units are fully sealed, compact, and rated IP67. The CAN to Modbus RTU or J1587 converters are suitable for applications such as mobile/off-highway equipment, transport vehicles, and power genset control systems.

Models AX140320, AX140321, and AX140322 feature 2 isolated CAN ports.

Models AX140100, AX140200, and AX140400 feature 3 isolated communication ports (2x CAN, 1x RS-485) and Marine type approvals.
